Sabrina Azul, fotógrafa y cineasta argentina, forja en sus trabajos un diálogo entre lo plástico y lo documental. Su obra ronda lo ensayístico; brinda nuevas interpretaciones a lo cotidiano.

Graduada de la carrera de Iluminación y Cámara en la Universidad del Cine, transita por las diferentes áreas de la industria audiovisual. Asimismo, la escritura de guiones, con una mirada crítica y creativa, es algo que mantiene fielmente.

En 2022 escribió y dirigió PLATA – SUR, un cortometraje realizado en múltiples formatos, que tuvo su premiere en el festival Enjambre, en el Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos (ex ESMA), donde recibió la mención a Mejor Cortometraje.

Ese mismo año se mudó a la ciudad de Los Angeles, donde participó como gerente de producción en numerosos comerciales y videos musicales, entre ellos Aleve: The Painful Truth, que obtuvo premios de bronce y plata en el Ojo Film Festival, y McDonald’s: Behind the Arches, ganador del Premio de Plata, en el San Diego Film Festival.

Paralelamente, su trabajo como fotógrafa tomó un rumbo más experimental. A través de la intervención de sus fotografías en 35 mm, se enfoca en la creación de imágenes que proponen plasmar espacios no racionales, que lindan entre el sueño y el recuerdo.

Actualmente trabaja en la preproducción de su primer largometraje documental, con el apoyo de Mecenazgo, programa de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Sabrina Azul, an Argentine photographer and filmmaker, develops in her work a dialogue between the plastic arts and documentary. Her practice leans toward the essayistic, offering new interpretations of the everyday.

She graduated in Lighting and Cinematography from Universidad del Cine and has worked across different areas of the audiovisual industry. At the same time, she remains deeply committed to screenwriting, with a critical and creative perspective.

In 2022, she wrote and directed PLATA – SUR, a short film produced in multiple formats, which premiered at the Enjambre Festival at the Espacio Memoria y Derechos Humanos (former ESMA), where it received a Special Mention for Best Short Film.

That same year, she moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a Production Manager on numerous commercials and music videos, including Aleve: The Painful Truth, which received bronze and silver awards at the Ojo Film Festival, and McDonald’s: Behind the Arches, which won a silver award at the San Diego Film Festival.

At the same time, her work as a photographer took a more experimental direction. Through interventions on her 35mm photographs, she focuses on creating images that aim to capture non-rational spaces, existing somewhere between dream and memory.
